A talk on assertive outreach services
Abstract
Psychiatric services can be provided in
different methods, models and settings to meet different clinical needs.
Assertive Outreach services are designed to provide intense care to patients
with complex psychiatric needs and limited engagement, usually under mental
health legislations. One of the main key features are to provide a
comprehensive care involving both the psychiatric and the physical health
related difficulties. The service also provides a psychological support route
for different clinical indications under a multi-disciplinary team setting. The
biopsychosocial treatment plan can be tailored to patients to meet their needs
and their cultural differences.
