Presentation Title:

Psychological empowerment of rural women through agricultural innovation platforms: A path to mental well-being and social inclusion

Abstract

Rural women often face multifaceted challenges that hinder both their economic participation and psychological well-being. This study explores how agricultural innovation platforms can serve not only as tools for increasing productivity but also as vehicles for psychological empowerment. Drawing on qualitative insights from rural communities in Baghdad Governorate, the research highlights the transformative impact of inclusive agricultural initiatives on women's mental health, self-efficacy, and sense of social belonging. By integrating mental well-being into the framework of rural development, the study offers a new perspective on how empowering rural women can lead to more resilient and inclusive agricultural systems. The findings emphasize the need for development programs that recognize mental health as a fundamental component of sustainable empowerment.
